I always thought of Phil as ‘my twin’, as we were born just hours apart. Phil came into my life at Beechwood Junior School. He sat next to me (the teacher put him there!). We seemed to have a connection from then on that didn't necessarily need or involve words. We remained friends throughout Bulmershe too, although he called me 'Maud' latterly, along with everyone else. We met up again at the school reunions. You would never have guessed that so many years had passed between each meeting. Phil was such a lovely, kind and cheerful chap. I am sure he will be missed by so many. Bill only really knew Phil properly from the 5th Form at Bulmershe, when we were all part of the same friendship group. In the 6th Form we all used to go to St Andrew's Youth Club near Royal Berks Hospital on Friday evenings. We have many happy memories of our fun times with him. We really can't believe that he has gone so soon.
